We tried our hand at the Honbu Dojo again. It was a good day. I got some really good pointers on Iaido, which I will have to try out. I learned something from our foray last weekend. Many of the practitioners there are very aggressive in their attacks on the blade (aka ken o korosu - kill the sword). I was even disarmed once by a powerful beat by a good Godan sensei. Today, I used a lot of that, using aggressive binds to advance in and strike before my opponents could react. I also used what Ike Sensei showed me last time in how to go from perfectly calm to attack in the blink of an eye. You have to master your inner calm while stealing an inch or two in distance and then launch your attack.
