We truly need your help regarding the Ebola crisis in Liberia. We have just received word that Ebola has been reported within 1 mile of Hope International School. The government has just ordered a mandatory 90-day shutdown of all schools and many government offices. People in the community are frightened and, for the most part, students, teachers and families are staying close to home. Although we recently funded the purchase of a limited amount of decontamination supplies for the school campus itself, Hope School administrators have asked for further funding to purchase more supplies so that they can go out into the Gardnersville community in order to help people maintain clean and sanitary conditions within their homes and neighborhoods, helping to prevent further contamination and spread of the disease. To obtain the amount of supplies necessary to accomplish this, however, requires funds beyond our current budget. Because of the imminent nature of this situation, we invite you to help with the purchasing of the necessary supplies by directly donating through the Hope Project Website, as well as helping to spread the word: hopeproject.org/you-can-help/donate The need is imminent: anything you can give – any way you can help – will have a direct and life-saving impact. Every penny you give will go directly to meet these needs in Liberia. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to turning hope into a reality for the families of Gardnersville, Liberia. Also, please consider attending one of our two events coming up this Fall (Seattle, September 30th and Cashmere, October 9th) to learn more about The Hope Project and how you can help. These will be wonderful evenings of music, auction items, desserts...and some hard facts about our world AND how you can help educate kids and even save lives. Check out the events on the Hope Project Facebook page. (We will continue to update with news and information as we receive it.)
