We use hum and tum instead of using main and tu because this is our way of respecting ourselves. I dont feel bad in giving myself the respect I deserve, a girl in the queue uttered while a Punjabi girl pushed her from behind, and when the Bihari girl reacted, she was laughing on her accent. Being a Bihari, I felt the appeal that she had made through her answer. And of course, there came a huge lot of girls in her support. After all, this is Jharkhand, not Maharashtra or Punjab or Bengal or any other state of India where you can be so shameless and criticise a states culture and ways of its inhabitants. Ive not visited these places, so cant say much about how Biharis are treated there. You cant be so immature to speak ill about Biharis when youve been born and brought up on this soil and have been living for so long among these people. This didnt show cultural differences that people from different communities possess but the trait of children of this over-hyped and misunderstood modern culture. Their English wont be good but theyll behave as if Shakespeare worked in their fathers theatre. They are the same people wholl ask what does pragatisheel mean after the teacher says, Bharat ek pragatisheel desh hai . So, in short, they neither understand Hindi nor English. Or, even if they do, they are too adamant to admit. I feel pity for them! And btw, Ive so many great great writers and journalists in my friendlist (Most of them are Biharis) that I never feel Biharis have any accent-problem.
