We used to look up in the sky and WONDER at our place in the stars, now we just look down and WORRY at our place in the dirt. THIS movie represents hope. It is the Christmas present the universe gave to me. I hope that you watch it and realize that the ideas it represents, HOPE AND A FUTURE, can be a gift you give to yourself. If you believe that human beings are a blight on this earth, you have given up on all the beauty that it is to be human. That human beings have a capacity for the kind of creative powers that transcends suffering, despair, self-loathing; WE are a beautiful species, WE are a creative species, WE are the species that ARE CAPABLE of transcending the problems of this earth and discovering OUR place in the stars. True Scientific discovery does not happen in models, or in turning back the clock on our own development, or in self-loathing. True scientific discovery begins with the idea that WE are capable of great love for each other; Agape. It must start there. WE, humankind, the human species, are naturally curious, naturally cooperative, naturally creative. So before your cynicism kicks in and says it is human arrogance to explore the galaxy, challenge yourself to see that we are a part of the universe every bit as much as the trees and the stars. We are just as natural to science as gravity, and it is indeed humankind that is capable of transforming this planet into a livable, war-less world without the constraints and short-sightedness of greed, selfishness and hatred.
