We visited my dad tonight, decorated his room with all things Christmas! His recovery is slow, however he is making baby steps in the right direction. One thing that I love about my dad is that he still has humor...said he feels like a character in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest! There are so many different .and interesting people in the rehab facility and so manspecialists he works with! I will need to read that book again to refresh my memory and why he referenced that. All I recall is the crazy nurse..yikes! He is working with a speech therapist...still cannot swallow and has the feeding tube in his stomach. He told me the first thing he will be drinking when able will be a Kerns nector juice on ice! He is working with the physical therapist gaining strength in his muscles and legs so he can walk again. Because he has not eaten in 2 months, he has lost about 35 pounds. Overall, he has come along way since the fire. There is still a long road ahead, but he is very loved and relies on Gods will and his hard work to get better. Thank you to everyone who has asked about him.
