We wanted to take this time to let everyone know that we will be - TopicsExpress

We wanted to take this time to let everyone know that we will be back in business this spring and to announce a new opportunity for our customers to purchase produce from our farm and also to support several other Iowa businesses such as ours!!! This year, in addition to our restaurants and grocery stores, we will be joining the Iowa Food Cooperative! This is a wonderful opportunity for consumers looking for a way to buy locally grown products to shop online and choose exactly what they would like to have. It is an Iowa grown, online grocery store!!! Members can shop all year round and now there is a new drop off site in Albia, Iowa! We have been working with a group of people from the Monroe County area to promote local foods in the area. This group is called The Hub-All things Local. It is beginning by promoting and being a large part of the Iowa Food Cooperative, which is centrally located in the Des Moines area. Membership for the Food cooperative is $50 but they are now giving people the chance to have a free membership and to shop for 6 months. Once you become a member, the yearly renewal is $10 and if at anytime you wish to leave the coop then your $50 is refunded! The best part about this online store is that you can choose exactly what you want. They have EVERYTHING (and even better, this spring and next winter, you can shop from us as well). You will find Iowa grown and made items such as eggs, grass-fed beef, chicken, honey, fresh produce and fruits, pure maple syrup, fresh baked items, Iowa produced butter, milk yogurt, ice cream and cheese, whole grain flours that are grown and ground right here in Iowa, organic baby food, sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, and so many more items it is impossible to mention all of them. Right now, the cart for this shopping period has just opened and will be open until Sunday evening. Please take a look at the items and farmers that are currently in the cart for purchase. As the spring continues more and more local growers will be featured and you can get to know the farmers that you are buying from by reading about them on this site. We want to encourage you to check out iowafood.coop and browse through the site. They also have a facebook page for all of you social media fans. We do ask that if you know others that may be interested in this online local shopping experience that you share this page on your facebook page so that others can learn more about the coop! The current distribution site in Albia is located at the Nite Gallery on the North side of the square. The next distribution day is Jan 29th between 5 and 6 PM. We encourage all of you to check out the website and do some browsing at the products that are available. If you have any questions, please post in the comments and we will do our best to answer. Thanks for your time.
