We welcomed another adorable pint size bully breed kiddo to the PLP family over the weekend ~ meet Bacon! This little guy is a 1 1/2 year old French Bulldog who was very loved, but sadly surrendered by his family due to some behavioral issues they were unable to manage with two young kids in the home. It seems that Bacon was exhibiting some resource guarding, and despite working with a trainer, everyone involved felt it would be best for him to go to a kid free home where he can continue to work on the issues safely. He has only been in his foster home for a few days so we will know more about what he needs once hes had time to settle in. Right now hes a little insecure, which is to be expected as he adjust to his new surroundings. Aside from the issues, which should not be taken lightly, that brought him to us, Bacon is a really good boy. Hes had extensive obedience work and is well trained, knows tons of commands, and even heels when walking on leash. He loves other dogs and had a fun play date with former PLP pup Jaeger over the weekend, and is enjoying sharing morning zoomies with his pittie foster brother. Hes much more confident with other dogs than he is new people, which is something we will work on once hes comfortable in his foster home. Bacon is not yet available for adoption, because we need to give him time to adjust so we can assess his training needs and determine the ideal forever home for Mr. Handsome. He will definitely need an experienced owner with no small children or kitties, but we are sure there will be lots of great families who will be ready to give him the loving home he deserves.
