We went to clinic this morning, the first one in just short of a month!! It couldnt have gone any better!! When we first walked in (after the oncologist discovered us hiding behind the curtain...) the doctor noticed that it was almost Seths birthday! I told him that that reminded me of a question. ;) Weve been counting down the days until he can have that port removed!!! I told him we were hoping to have it out and all healed before we leave on Seths dream trip (Feb 23) and wondered what he thought about that. He said, depending on todays EBV test and one that well do in two weeks, if those both come back negative, we can schedule the surgery!!!!!!! Floating on cloud 9 right now!!! Cant wait to see him on that cruise ship in his bathing suit, playing and behaving like a normal 8 year old, with only the scars of what used to be. That also hit me this morning as I thought about this birthday. I just can hardly even believe all hes faced. He was diagnosed only 3 weeks after his 7th birthday, and before his 8th birthday, the only thing left are scars. Miraculous. Im in awe. Hes gained another pound, which means he officially weighs more than pre transplant! So, more good news! Were getting so excited to celebrate all thats gone on by going on Seths dream trip! Daddy has been in the bed for the past 5 days and is hopefully on the mend. Everyone is resting now and watching an old favorite! Enjoying our last restful day before we start pounding school and daddy returns to work!
