We were absolutely delighted to present Waterford Marine Search and Rescue with a cheque for €3200 from Donal O Connor Memorial Cycle 2014. This money is going towards building a rescue base and a new piece of sonar equipment, which will allow the guys to search the river bed at the same time as the surface, reducing search times and relieving stress on loved ones waiting for news. Nobody at Waterford Marine Search and Rescue takes a wage so all monies raised go directly back into funding the service. This is a busy time of year with people finding Christmas particularly hard so the volunteers will be working extra hard with their suicide patrols.
