We were at Red Bank Vet Hospital (Linwood) until 3 am with Inkling, AKA Inky. When we got home from Bible study he was hiding in a kitchen cabinet, and when I found him he was hot and breathing rapidly, hence the emergency trip . Diagnosis: heart failure with fluid around the lungs and heart. Prognosis: with medicine, three, maybe four months, with poor quality of life (due to the continuing difficulty breathing). So we did the humane thing, and it breaks our hearts. Inky was an old boy, 13 or 14, and gave us 10 years of love and laughter. He watched over his "sisters" very well. He died in the arms of the two who loved him unconditionally, for that is how he loved us. RIP Inky. You are missed.
