We were downtown today and Lilly had her first lesson in taxes. We were planning on doing some door -to-door fundraising as well as internet fundraising. We found out that to go door to door to raise money for her project she needs: a business trade name registration ($100), liability insurance, a background check, copy of auto license, State issued I.D. and $25 per 30 days or $279.00 for the whole year. She has had difficulty understanding taxes. (To be honest, I dont understand why the government is so anxious to take money from people. She has raised $30 so far and has $19 dollars in savings. Her tax burden to date is $379.00 plus she will need to get a health permit when she begins selling cotton candy. .I cant imagine how this kind of pre taxation is promoting entrepreneurship... We will keep you posted.
