We were expected to lose heavily at the hands of Charlton; we ran them close (y) There was no shame in our first PS defeat... Playing away at Charlton would be pretty daunting for a lot of teams, let alone a newly promoted Conference side, so I played it safe - my defensive startegy was deployed! I picked a physically strong side, with my main creative outlet being Sergio Torres... However we didnt quite start as planed :( Mboko managed to break free from his marker at a corner and BAM. We were punished! Despite playing well, things got worse for us on the stroke of half time. Sam Vokes ran through my defence and slotted home with a cool finish. It wasnt a question of our work rate; a gulf in class! We went into the break 2-0 down and I said lets go for it! I pushed on our wide-players and after 40 minutes we scored (y) Victor Ashby lashed home a leathal volley to restore some pirde :) Im not too upset by that result: back on our bikes, eh?
