We were finally able to to talk to the critical care surgeon who is watching over Deddy tonight ( not the one who operated) she was able to inform us on everything. They were only able to do the surgery on his ankles because they lost him on the table and had to do chest compressions to bring him back, once they did they did not continue with the surgery on the knees. They placed him on the ventilator. They now have him on a low dose of oxygen which is great! He will go back into surgery Wednesday or Thursday depending on how he does the next couple days. He is on spine watch essentially so thy have him on a bed roll an of course in a very large neck brace until he is able to be clinically released for spine. She said they canny do this until he is fully awake and alert. They will turn him every 30 minutes tonight so that he doesnt develop any breaking down of the skin on the back. I went in after talking with the doctor to see Deddy and he squeezed my hand ever so tightly! I asked if I could say a prayer for him and he nodded, I said a nice, long, praising God for his mercy today and for healing and for the future surgeries and said amen to open my eyes to see Deddy mouthing amen with that tube in his mouth. :) I also could see him trying to say I love you. :) as I told him I had to leave and goodbye he let go if my hand and move it around to grasp it tightly in a different way I assume asking me not to leave ... 😢 so I said seems like you dont want me to leave so how about I send the rest of the ladies in to tell you goodnight. I asked if that would be okay he nodded and released my hand. I came out in the hall and broke down jut seeing him like that and they had his poor legs exposed and I had to see all the braces an so on and just having him squeeze as to not leave ... But I am so thankful hes alive!! We are headed home now to rest, work tomorrow and back to the hospital. Also it seems we are looking at probably several weeks to a few months in te hospital. Thank you all sooo much for your prayers and please if you think of one of us say a prayer for him!! Amen!
