We were honored to be able to distribute 300 pairs of new and near-new running shoes Saturday night in Eads, Colo., to the tribal youth runners and supporters taking part in the Sand Creek Massacre Spiritual Healing Run. Volunteers then took part in the opening ceremonies and run Sunday morning at the massacre site, 23 miles from Eads. We will also be taking part in Wednesdays final leg of the Healing Run, starting at the Riverside Cemetery and ending on the west steps of the State Capitol. Shoes and athletic gear to donate can be brought to Riverside, 5201 Brighton Blvd, before the 8 a.m. start of the run. A ceremony at the grave marker of Silas Soule is set for 7 a.m. before the run.
