We were rewarded today and given the ultimate lesson in never giving up. We fought valiantly for our client in front of the Immigration Judge but to no avail he was ordered removed. We appealed to the Board of Immigration and lost. We moved up to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals and again lost because the court found that the burden of proof should not interfere with the need for efficient administrative proceedings. We could have given up. Our client could have given up. But neither did. What we did is get a little help from our friends and asked the US Supreme Court to review the matter. Today we learned that this case was accepted for review by the U.S. Supreme Court. We have awesome friends!
