We were shocked and saddened by today’s news of the sudden death of Seamus Heaney, world-renowned poet whose relationship with Emory stretches back more than 30 years. His most recent visit to our library was in March, when he was the featured poet at our Twelfth Night Revel, a fundraising event for MARBL. He read to a standing-room-only crowd at Glenn Auditorium the next day. Heaney had many friends and fans here, all of whom treasure special connections to this legend in the world of poetry.
