We were so busy the last couple days that I didnt have time to post any of my gift recommendations. Oh no! Countdown to Christmas... Gift Recommendation #4: Marrying Mr. Darcy For the person who loves Jane Austen AND games, we have the PERFECT gift! This indie game from a small publisher has been one of our best sellers this year. It is a silly, quick card game in which each player plays one of the female heroines from Pride and Prejudice. The players try to improve themselves by increasing the value of traits like beauty, wit, and reputation. At the end of the game, if their trait values match a suitors desires, they may get a proposal. The player who can make the best match wins, or maybe they can take the prize by becoming an old maid who is a famous author. This game is ridiculously funny, offers a satirical look at gender roles in Austens literature, and has been a huge hit with men and women alike at our game nights. It is especially funny if you get into it and role play your characters a bit. And of course, there is a zombie expansion, in case you prefer your suitors to be of the undead persuasion. :)
