We were swamped with local farm produce and grocery store strawberries at the food bank today. Lots of cabbage from the farms, along with carrots, greens, beets, and other things. I was there later than I usually am because there was so much stuff and it took us more time to process it all. At one point I was walking down the hallway to one of the offices and people were waiting to eat lunch. A few people stopped me to rave about the fish chowder! Annette told me I will start to be known as Chowder Lady pretty soon. I still find it bizarre and I had no idea what to say, so I probably looked like a dork standing there with a dumb smile on my face--LOL. Then I came home and found an email saying that someone had nominated me to be on the education committee at MCHPP and would I accept? I did and my first meeting will be in three weeks. Should be interesting. In the meantime, this Thursday I will be cooking----you guessed it----chowder. I am told there is no end in sight in terms of available fish.
