We were very sad to hear about the passing of Basil recently. Basil was adopted by the Newman family nine years ago from the Kloof and Highway SPCA. May Basil rest in peace. He was extremely blessed to be adopted by such a wonderful family. The Newman family are in our thoughts. We wanted to share their message with our supporters Hi to everyone It is with sadness that we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Basil today. He was adopted back in 2005 from the Kloof and Highway SPCA. Our house will just not be the same without him. Two years ago he was diagnosed with a tumour in one of his main arteries so we knew the time would come when we would have to make the painful decision to let him go and the vet confirmed this today. The tumour had ruptured and he was bleeding internally. We would just like to say thank you to everyone at the SPCA for all the hard work you do and for giving us the privilege of adopting Basil all those years ago. He is now pain-free, epilepsy-free and no longer scared of storms. I have attached some pictures of our gorgeous boy. The one photo was actually taken at the SPCA cages and who wouldn’t fall in love with those big brown eyes. Lots of love Kerry, Paul and Aiden Newman xxx
