We who choose to surround ourselves with lives, even more - TopicsExpress

We who choose to surround ourselves with lives, even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle, easily and often breached. Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way. We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan... COLE, passed away unexpectedly some time last evening. He was a very stunning and healthy cat, always riding on your shoulder wanting to see things from our level. Cole, our Shoulder Cat, was a cat who was confident, outgoing, and assertive. He wanted to see the world from our vantage point. He wanted maximum closeness. He wanted a ride. Never exhibited any symptoms of illness or distress and was eating with the rest of the kitties last evening. Rode around on Marys shoulder a good part of the day, as he usually did. Without getting a costly necropsy on him, we feel it most likely was Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a hardening and thickening of the heart muscle. It occurs most often in neutered, middle-aged male cats. Cole was about 5-6 years old and neutered. Abandoned at one of our feeding stations over a year ago.
