We will (after youve drawn us into your chambers) be glad and - TopicsExpress

We will (after youve drawn us into your chambers) be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee (ref. Song 1:4b). This last line, spoken by the Shulamite to her Beloved, was thus interpreted by Watchman Nee to read, The virgins love thee purely (that is, without mixed motives). My spirit agrees, and shouts a thousand hallelujahs over that! Undoubtedly, she had seen his great wealth, and witnessed what power he wielded over the land. She knew of the gifts he was capable of giving her, and the extravagant, exotic experiences he had to offer. But these were not the things that appealed to her, as wonderful as they were. SHE LOVED HIM, NOT FOR WHAT HE HAD, BUT FOR WHO HE WAS! Her attraction was based purely on his person---not on some topical ointment, or externally-enhancing compound; and not on the things which hed accrued throughout the course of his life, and what she stood to gain as a result of entering into a relationship with him---but on the very essence of that which flowed from his innermost being. Thats what she loved about him; and that love burned like a fire shut up in her bones!
