We will arrange a study tour to Hong Kong from September 23 to September 25 for our students from Year 7 onwards. Fees for the trip are 18,500.- Baht including return airfare and two nights accommodation with breakfast at Holiday Inn Hong Kong. Supervisors of the trip are Dr. Pim from our Lampang school and teacher Blake from the Krabi school. Please make reservation not later than Friday afternoon of September 12 by making a deposit payment of 12,000.- Baht at the Khun Khanitta or Kru Pin at the front building. The rest must be paid not later than on September 19. Participants will have an opportunity to attend the Asia-Pacific Applied Learning Conference 2014 hosted by ESF (English School Foundations) which run two British international schools (West Island School and South Island School, Savannah College of Art and Design Hong Kong (SCAD-HK) and Hong Kong Design Institute. All these four institutions also offer BTEC programmes which our Lampang school is now running. Programme: September 23: 6 am: Departure from Chiang Mai 9.45 am: Arrival in HK 11.30 am: Check in at Holiday Inn Hotel 12.00 pm: Lunch 13.00 pm: Going to Victoria Peak and Madamme Tussaude Wax Museum 15.30 pm: Going to Repulse Bay 18.00 pm: Dinner 19.30: Going to Avenue of Star or Hollywood Street to see hand prints of famous movie stars 20.00 pm: Watching a Symphony of Lights, a multi media show having been recorded in the guiness book September 24: 8.00 am: Breakfast at the hotel 9.30 am: Shopping at Nathan Road, the famous shopping street of Hong Kong, plenty of fashion goods on mid year sale now. 12.00 pm: Lunch 14.00-16.00 pm: Experience Applied Learning in Higher Education, students participate in these following learning sessions at following venues: Graphic Design at Savannah College of Art and Design Hong Kong Sequential Art (Comic Illustration) at Savannah College of Art and Design Hong Kong (SCAD HK) Fashion at Savannah College of Art and Design Hong Kong Hospitality workshop at Hotel Icon-School of Hotel Management, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Students will be introduced to a behind the scene tour of a luxury hotel. They will engage in a practical task that sheds insight into the world of hospitality. Business workshop at Business School HKPU 16.00-17.00 pm: Transfer to SCAD-Hong Kong From 16.30-19.00: BTEC Students Exhibition and reception and tour of SCAD-HK. A sample of student portfolio and outcomes will be available in the innovative setting of the old courtrooms of Hong Kong and there will be a a chance to meet professors, students and teachers.
