We will be able to reign in this life if we are ruling from a foundation of hope. Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast…. When there are no answers, no do over’s, no light at the end of the tunnel, when we are at the end of our rope, overwhelmed, and defeated, there is hope in God. When the doctor gives no hope, when our economy crashes, and when relationships utterly fail, there is reason to hope in God. We can still rule from a foundation of power because our soul is anchored in God, His goodness, and His greatness. Rom 5:3-5 3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Hope is birthed in each of us through a process. Paul reveals this process to us here in Romans. We can see the progression; tribulation, endurance, experiencing God’s faithfulness, which builds hope in us. We don’t get hope from a weekend seminar, but we acquire it as we walk with Jesus. Hope is the sure and steadfast knowledge that our God will come through when there is no visible evidence of His presence. Hope will take us through the worst that life can throw at us. We truly can rule in the midst of sorrow, challenge, heartbreak, disappointment, and failure. Our God will be faithful. Think back in your own life. Not once has God done anything but wondrous things on your behalf.
