We will be doing short reviews on each of the games our seniors have played this year before the last game on Saturday. Tonight we have rounds 1,2,3 In round 1 the boys were up against the cross town rivals, St Bedes/Mentone. This round marked the birth of a new Beaumaris favourite, Raph Clarke. St Bedes came out hard kicking the first few before Beaumaris slowly took control, kicking 6 in the last to roll St Bedes by 39 points. Gower booted 7 through the big sticks in the win. Petering and Casey-Leigh had 2 goals each as well. In round 2 the boys were out to prove that the win against last years runners up in round 1 was no fluke, they were up against De La Salle in what was the first home game of the year. The Sharks never looked liked losing, they had the lead at all the breaks. Raph kicked his first goal in the blue and gold in front of the home crowd as the boys showed no mercy, beating a deflated De La by 55 points. Cathcart kicked 3, as did Braithwaite. Petering and Gandy had a few to their names as well. In round 3 the Sharks were kean to make it 3 from 3 as they found themselves up against the reigning premiers, Old Xavs. On a windy day at Oak the Xavs got the jump, kicking a few early. The Sharks slowly pulled back the lead mainly thanks to Petering and Gower (again) and the better McBain (Sam). Final score Beaumaris 84- Xavs 81. Gower kicked 5, Cathcart had 3. We later had Xavs stripped of their percentage. So after 3 rounds the Sharks were looking great, positioned 2nd on the ladder
