We will be offering 2 new multi-part workshop series beginning in mid-February. Please register by Feb. 10, 2012. SIBLINGS WITHOUT RIVALRY (4 part series): Fri., Feb. 21 & 28, Fri. March 7 & 21, 2014 ~ (9:30 – 11:15 a.m. ) This four week mini-course will include the following topics: - Helping Siblings Deal With Their Feelings About Each Other: Recognize the source of our children’s feelings about each other. - Explore how to respond in helpful ways. - Equal Is Less: Children don’t need to be treated equally; they need to be treated uniquely. Discussion will involve how to give love and time according to individual need. - The Perils of Comparisons: Sometimes we compare our children in hopes of motivating them. Discover encouraging techniques that will decrease discouraging comparisons. - When Kids Fight: Learn to intervene in helpful ways, acknowledge feelings while limiting actions, recognize the four levels of fighting and teach children the steps of conflict resolution. INFANT MASSAGE (5 part series): Fri., February 21 to Fri., March 21, 2014 ~ (1:00-2:00 pm) This comprehensive 5 part series promotes nurturing touch and the critical relationship between infants and their parents/caregivers. Bonding and attachment are enhanced through gentle touch and communication. There are immense benefits to parent/caregivers as they learn to understand their babys cues and experience the pleasure and increased confidence in being able to respond to their needs. Research has also shown that there are many health benefits associated with Infant Massage. There is a registration fee of $50 for this workshop series. Note: Child care is available at a fee of $5.00 per child for daytime workshops only, unless otherwise specified. Child care must be paid for at time of registration. Schedule is subject to change.
