We will find out our first opponents in this year’s FA Cup later today, with the third round draw starting at 7pm UK time. It is one of the most exciting days in the English football calendar and this year could pit a team from the Premier League against a team from the seventh tier, Blyth Spartans. They defeated Hartlepool 2-1 on Friday night. It is at this stage of the competition that Premier League and Championship teams enter the draw. Those 44 teams will be joined in the hat by eight non-league teams – three of which, including Aldershot Town, face replays – as well as sides from Leagues One and Two.
