We wish all the very best for Afghan students going to India for pursuing their education. The Embassy would reiterate the message by President Karzai in his interaction with Afghan students in Pune in December 2013: Ibn Batuta had said “Travel itself is a way to reach knowledge and science”. Student is not a tourist. He is searcher of knowledge and resources. Recounting his own student days in India, President Karzai said that hardship and difficulties formed him, suggesting that hardship too has to be taken in its stride. India is not a melting pot; it is a mixing pot and it allows you to develop your own character and individuality. Education and morality come together and makes for a good human being. Education helps remove prejudices. Recalling that during his early days, President Karzai had gone for photo-journalism course and the Professor had told him that one day he would be a Minister or a President. He had kept this in mind. You will realize your objectives, but you also need to prepare for the day to take on higher responsibilities by working hard and endless learning.
