We wish the members of service and the civilians a speedy recovery. 13 injured in 4-alarm fire in the Bronx JULY 30, 2014, BY ASHLEY EDWARDS THE BRONX (PIX11) – Thirteen people were injured in a four-alarm fire that burned through several homes in the Bronx Wednesday afternoon. The FDNY is on the scene of the fire on Hill Avenue in Wakefield. The fire burned through private dwellings, according to the department. Eleven of the 13 injuries were to firefighters. “Considering the amount of fire upon my arrival, and the weather, this is a low number,” said EMS Chief Roberto Colon at the scene. One person was injured after jumping from a second-floor window to escape the flames. Another resident also suffered injuries but it’s not clear how. Both were taken to Cornell Medical Center. Four firefighters were treated for injuries at the scene. An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
