We would like to extend our best wishes to John Block who is retiring today. We are proud to recognize all that John has accomplished not only through his career as a Veteran’s Benefit Specialist here at Reynolds-Jonkhoff, but his entire career of public service. John began with Reynolds-Jonkhoff following a proud military career beginning in 1965 when he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Following his tenure with the Air Force, John served with the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Service, retiring as chief investigator. John then worked for the Grand Traverse Sherriff’s Department for 28.5 years. The day started with our 9 am “work family” meeting with a special presentation from Senator Wayne Schmidt and Jason Allen Senior Deputy Director of the Michigan Department of Veterans Affairs. At noon two special guests joined us for John’s retirement lunch including his wife Judy and Captain Sean Cross from the United States Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City. During the lunch, John was presented awards of recognition from Captain Sean Cross and Peg Jonkhoff. We appreciated his personal sense of dedication, integrity, and thoroughness that has proven to be invaluable in serving our veterans. John has provided extensive training over the past six to Anne Noble who will assume the role of Veterans Benefits Specialists. John will continue to volunteer related to his passion of serving our local veterans. Congratulations John!
