Wear red on National Day? Our SMRT colleagues already do, not just on National Day but every day. And we’re proud of our corporate colours. All set for the National Day celebrations are SMRT staff like those on duty right now at City Hall MRT station. Our colleagues at City Hall may have been nameless to you countless times as you filed past the fare gates there. But today, we put names to their faces. Seen here in the calm before the crowd surge are Station Manager David Lee, Assistant Station Manager (ASM) Mohd Izhar (cheerfully assisting commuters at the Passenger Services counter) and Assistant Station Manager Nurulhuda Binte Sarbini. Today will be one of the busiest days for the station. Later today, we will boost the staff strength at City Hall more than 10 times. The team on duty will grow from four staff to over 50 to control the expected crowd surge in the hours leading up to the National Day Parade, which will be staged a short walking distance from City Hall station. Our team at CTH are joined by many more SMRT staff islandwide who are on duty this public holiday to ensure the rest of Singapore enjoys their National Day weekend. We are proud to serve you.
