Weather Alert Portland Area: A strong line of t-storms have been affecting the Eugene to Salem area east to the Cascades. This line is slowly progressing northwest and I expect it to reach the south metro area within the next hour. This line of storms has been responsible for several hundred lightning strikes to our south. With afternoon and early evening football and soccer practices, keep your eyes to the sky and remember if you can hear thunder, you can be struck by lightning. It is a good time now to plan to move your practices inside or cancel them altogether if you have outdoor recreation plans.
