BASYANG has intensified into a TROPICAL STORM as it continues to move towards Leyte - Caraga area. @10AM today, the center of TS BASYANG was estimated @50km E NE of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. Max winds of 65kph near the center & gustiness of up to 80kph. Forecast to move W @30kph. TS BASYANG is expected to be in the vicinity of Naga City, Cebu by tomorrow morning & @133km NW of Puerto Princesa City by Sunday morning. By Monday morning, it is expected to be @729km W NW of Puerto Princesa City or outside the PAR. Signal #1 -Masbate, Cuyo Island, Northern Samar, Biliran Is., Aklan, Capiz, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Siquijor, MISAMIS ORIENTAL, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, rest of Agusan Norte, rest of Surigao Sur, Agusan Sur, Northern part of BUKIDNON, Zamboanga Norte. Signal #2 -Cebu, Bohol, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Eastern Samar, Samar, Camotes Island, Camiguin, Dinagat Prov, Surigao Norte, Siargao Is., Northern Part of Surigao Sur, Northern Part of Agusan Norte. Residents living in low lying & mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #2 & #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods & landslides. Those living in coastal areas under signal #2 are alerted against storm surges. Estimated rainfall amount is from 5-15mm per hour (mod-heavy) within the 400km diameter of the TS. Expected to make landfall over Southern Leyte - Northern tip of Surigao Norte area late tonight or early tomorrow morning. Fishing boats & other small seacrafts are advised Not to venture out into the eastern seaboards of Central & Southern Luzon due to the surge of Northeast Monsoon. The public & local DRRMCs concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 P.M. today.
