Weather Bulletin Number TWELVE Tropical Cyclone Warning: Tropical Storm "GORIO" Issued at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, 30 June 2013 Tropical Storm "GORIO" has gained strength while moving Northwestward over the West Philippine Sea. Location of Center:(as of 4:00 p.m.) 230 km West of Dagupan City Coordinates: 15.8°N, 118.0°E Strength: Maximum winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph Movement: Northwest at 26 kph Forecast Positions/Outlook: Monday morning: 430 km Southwest of Laoag City and out of the Philippine Area of Responsibity (PAR) Monday afternoon: 610 km Northwest of Laoag City Areas Having Public Storm Warning Signal Signal No. 1(45-60 kph winds) Pangasinan Zambales Public Storm Warning Signals elsewhere are now lowered. Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas are alerted against big waves. Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 - 17 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Storm. Fishermen specially those using small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Western Seaboards of Luzon due to big waves generated by Tropical Storm "GORIO". The public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 11 PM tonight.
