Weather Forecast for KENT – SATURDAY 24th January 15. SYNOPSIS: We come under a north westerly airflow as a ridge of high pressure passes close by. TODAY . . . I do have great pleasure in saying that we can expect a day of decent lengthy sunny spells and not that much in the way of cloud. Although itll still be on the chilly side at 6 C to 7 C (43 F to 45 F) under a moderate north west breeze, the sun will get to feel very pleasantly mild on the face if you can get yourself in a south-facing sun trap. Eg: the Coastal Park at Folkestone – probably a good day to take your little charges to there. It may even make for an ideal line washing day! TONIGHT . . . Although there may be a bit more in the way of high cloud cover, a frost can still be expected as temperatures are allowed to fall down to freezing level (0 C, 32 F). There may also be some fog patches as our wind become lighter. TOMORROW (Sunday) . . . Cold, dry, bright and frosty in the morning thus making for a fine start to the day, then cloud will increase in from the west as we go into the afternoon but it should stay dry anyway. Staying on the chilly side at 7 C (45 F), which is expected of this time of year in any case. It wont be until the evening or later on in the night will the cloud be thick enough to give off patchy light rain or drizzle. Thatll make for a frost-free night. NEXT WEEK . . . Rather cloudy and damp with the occasional bright spells on Monday and into Tuesday. Then becoming windy and unsettled as we go into the second half of the week but it is unlikely to be anything too drastic (all typical mid-winter stuff). There are signs of our weather becoming colder again as we head into next weekend. Will it be “the one” in terms of proper wintry weather or will it be just another “Oh, is that it?” affair. Most likely end up being the latter as we dont really do well in terms of snow under a north west airflow but frost and ice are likely to be featured regularly once again, but Im getting ahead of myself at this point anyway.
