Weather Forecast for Kent – Tuesday 12th August ’14. Kent remains under an unstable westerly airstream thanks to an unusually deep low pressure system being firmly anchored off to the north east of the UK. TODAY . . . Just like yesterday, showers will spend the rest of this morning brushing along the South Coast where some of those may turn heavy with perhaps a rumble of thunder in the air. However, at the same time, North Kent will fare better with more in the way of sunshine. Then all parts can expect decent sunny breaks and partial cloud cover as we wear onto the afternoon, but I still cannot rule out one or two more passing light shower rushing along in this fresh south westerly wind. Nonetheless, having said all that, it’ll still be worth hanging the line washing out and hope for the best as it’ll dry up fast. Again, due to the random nature of a showery-type set up, I can’t give precise timings and locations of when any one of those showers will strike, so don’t ask me if it is going to rain at Woodchurch at 1.35 pm, instead just carry out your mission and hope everything does turn out better than expected. Temperatures sticking close to average values at around 19 C (66 F) and while it’ll get to be feeling fresh and airy in general, you’ll still be able to extract some warmth when in sheltered areas. TONIGHT . . . Becoming dry with clear breaks and varied cloud amounts. Since the south west wind is expected to become lighter, that will make the minimums of 13 C to 16 C (55 F to 59 F) feel fairly mild. OUTLOOK . . . Varied cloud amounts and bright or sunny spells but with some passing showers for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Since winds will always be coming in from the west and then eventually the north west, that will keep temperatures pegged down at average values, but it’ll still get to feel pleasantly warm whenever the sun does stay out for long enough. All in all, not really a lot to get worked up or excited over as things stand at the moment.
