Weather Forecast for Kent – WEDNESDAY 24th September ’14. We are under a north-westerly air flow as a weak cold front move away from us, but another just-as-weak weather front is expected to move in from the north west tonight. TODAY . . . This initial dampness and overcast skies will give way to brightening skies as we wear into this morning thus leading to a fair afternoon involving bright spells and partial cloud cover. However, having said that, there is a small chance of an odd isolated light shower passing through somewhere over our country (due to the random nature of that, it wouldn’t be worth asking me if it is worth bringing in the washing at your back yard in Shrood at 2.50 pm). Temperatures still on the mild side at 18 C (64 F) under a light north west breeze. So all in all, not at all a bad day after that rather damp gloomy start. TONIGHT . . . Becoming cloudy with patchy light rain. The cloud base may be low enough to shroud high ground as hill fog. But it is going to be a comfortably cool night with minimum temperatures hovering around 10 C (50 F). TOMORROW (Thursday) . . . After a rather cloudy, murky and damp start, there should be some decent bright or sunny spells for the rest of the day but there is a small risk of a light shower or two passing by. Continuing on the warm side at 18 C (64 F). OUTLOOK . . . Continuing quiet and settled on Friday and into the weekend. I suspect there may be quite a bit of low cloud hanging around and mist and fog may tend to be a regular thing in the night time as winds fall calm. There’ll be some bright spells about but I wouldn’t expect that much in the way of wall to wall sunshine if I were you. This settled spell looks like lasting well into next week with temperatures remaining above average.
