Weather Issued at: 5:00 a.m., 31 January 2014 At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression BASYANG was estimated based on all available data at 768 km east northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur (9.7°N 133.2°E) with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move west at 30 kph. Forecast Positions/Outlook: Saturday morning: 152 km North Northeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur Sunday morning: 189 km Northeast of Puerto Princesa City Monday morning: 706 km Northwest of Puerto Princesa City or outside the PAR Signal No. 1 (30-60 kph winds may be expected in at least 36 hours) None Southern part of Samar Southern part of Eastern Samar Leyte Biliran Southern Leyte Camotes Island Cebu Negros Provinces Siquijor Island Bohol Surigao del Norte Siargao Island Surigao del Sur Northern part of Agusan del Sur Agusan del Norte Camiguin Islan Dinagat Province Misamis Oriental Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides. Estimated rainfall amount is from 5 - 15 mm per hour (moderate - heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Depression. Expected to make landfall over Surigao Provinces late Friday evening or early Saturday morning. Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon and of Visayas due to Tropical Depression BASYANG and the Northeast Monsoon.
