Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles Issued: 6:00 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2013 Lingering moisture from the passage of a westward moving tropical wave will continue to produce cloudiness and showers mainly across the northern portion of the island chain during tonight into early tomorrow. This will be followed by a gradual drying out of the atmosphere during tomorrow as the day progresses. A westward moving tropical wave located east of the island chain is expected to approach the region by late Saturday into early Sunday. Additionally, another westward moving tropical wave is located in the Central Tropical Atlantic. Moderate sea conditions are expected during the next 24 hours with swells peaking near 7.0 feet. Synopsis: Unstable conditions are affecting the island. Forecast for Tonight: Partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms Forecast for Tomorrow: Partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy with some scattered showers Wind: Easterly to South easterly @ 10 to 30 km/h. Sea Conditions: Moderate in open water. Swells: 1.0 to 1.5 meters or 3.0 to 5.0 feet.
