Weather Situation A weak ridge lies along the east coast of Queensland and will continue to weaken over the next 24 hours. A surface and upper trough over southwestern Queensland will move eastwards during Thursday, moving off the southeast coast late in the day. The surface trough will then move northwards to the Capricornia coast by early Friday and into the northeast of the state by Sunday, generally contracting showers and thunderstorms into the tropics over the weekend.
