This Evening and Tonight: Cloud and rain continues to spread east and become more widespread as the night progresses, with some intense thundery downpours across central and eastern parts leading to the risk of localised flooding. Drier in west with some clear spells later. Saturday: Further spells of rain in the east, heavy and thundery at times, especially in the southeast with the risk of localised flooding. Drier in the west with sunny spells developing. Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Drier on Sunday with sunny intervals, but shower risk in southeast. Mostly dry on Monday, but patchy rain in the northwest spreads southeastwards during Tuesday, weakening as it does so. UK Outlook for Wednesday 28 Aug 2013 to Friday 6 Sep 2013: Most places will remain dry mid-week with variable cloud and sunny spells. However, some rain will push into northwestern parts through Thursday, before weakening as it pushes southeast. Thereafter, changeable weather is expected to become confined to northwestern parts with conditions further south and east often fine and dry. Daytime temperatures largely near average for late August and perhaps warm in some southern parts later next week. Nights may well turn cooler than of late though with a greater chance of some mist or fog patches around dawn. Little change is then expected for early September, with the north and west most likely to see changeable weather and the south and east probably remaining drier, warmer and more settled, but with the continued risk of overnight mist and chilly dawns.
