Today: Generally dry with bright or sunny spells, although still rather cloudy at times over some northern parts, especially Derbyshire. Tonight: Generally dry throughout, and with no more than some patchy cloud, allowing lengthy clear spells. Mist or fog patches are likely to develop overnight, mainly in some lower-lying rural parts. Minimum Temperature 8 C. Wednesday: Mist or fog will clear to leave a dry, bright day with some good sunny spells and light winds. It will become very warm by the afternoon. Maximum Temperature 26 C. Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: Sunny for a time, then cloudy later Thursday, with rain overnight. Mostly cloudy Friday and Saturday with rain at times, some of it heavy. Feeling much cooler, too. Elsewhere, some early mist but then a largely dry and bright day with some good periods of warm sunshine, particularly in the south and west. Tonight: A largely dry and clear night, although some localised mist and fog developing in places. Remaining breezy in the north with some heavy rain affecting the far northwest by dawn. Wednesday: Rain, heavy at times, will slowly move southeastwards through Scotland. Most of the UK will remain fine and very warm with prolonged sunny spells. Outlook for Thursday to Saturday: Rain will gradually move southeastwards bringing cooler conditions to the north. Fine and very warm to start in the south, although turning much cooler and wetter from Friday onwards. UK Outlook for Saturday 7 Sep 2013 to Monday 16 Sep 2013: A northwest southeast division is likely during the weekend, with northwestern areas seeing generally dry weather, with variable amounts of cloud. Towards the southeast, unsettled conditions, with showery outbreaks of rain, which may be heavy and prolonged at times. Temperatures generally around average, though perhaps a little above in any sunshine, but feeling cooler under the cloud and rain. Through the rest of the period, it will be unsettled initially in the south, but quieter weather is expected to gradually develop, with drier conditions returning. By contrast, northern parts are likely to see a gradual return of unsettled conditions once again with showers or longer periods of rain. Temperatures near-normal in the north, but locally warm in the south.
