Weather update as of midnight: Sleet continues to cover most of Central Texas. That means the roads arent getting any better. All elevated roadways in Williamson, Travis and Hays counties are iced over. Many elevated roads are closed due to accidents or simply too much ice! Bridges in rural areas outside of the Austin area are also iced at this time. It looks like we have several more hours of sleet ahead of us. That means roads will remain treacherous through morning rush hour, Friday. We wont get above freezing until about 10am Friday morning. By noon, everything should be fine. Radar is indicating snow in parts of our area, but remember that those displays use computer temperature forecast models to guess where its sleeting and where its snowing. As of midnight, its all sleet in the KVUE viewing area, but could still change to flurries before it all ends by sunrise on Friday. Mark Murray
