Weather update from Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center: There - TopicsExpress

Weather update from Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center: There still is an uncertainty with the forecasts as to where exactly the system’s heavy rainfall axis will occur and what areas it will impact. So at this time we are asking everyone to be prepared for localized flooding of poor drainage and low-lying/flood zone areas. There is a slight risk of tidal surge but certainly nowhere near the surge that we experienced during TS Irene and Superstorm Sandy, so we should see immediate coastal flooding only in the minor range. Rain should be away from our area mid-afternoon on Saturday. Winds will remain below advisory levels so this will be predominately a rain event. Again, please take appropriate actions if your home or business floods and keep alert to all updated weather alerts and emergency instructions. To learn more about flood preparedness please visit our website at bridgeportct.gov and proceed to the emergency management department tab. In addition, please follow us for the latest weather updates on social media: Twitter: @MayorBillFinch; @CityofBPTCT; @BPTEOC or @NWSNewYorkNY. Facebook: Bill Finch; City of Bridgeport, CT; or Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center As always the City of Bridgeport EOC will continue to monitor the storm systems and keep everyone updated as to the storm tracks and expectations based on the forecasts. Stay Safe and begin preparing now! BPT EOC
