WebStream Sports Announces Expansion with Opening of Charlotte, NC Office Former Speed TV vice president, Tom Cavanaugh, to oversee new office Indianapolis, Ind. – WebStream Sports, a leader in digital video production and services, is opening its second office. The second office will be located in Charlotte, NC. The new office will be lead by Tom Cavanaugh, former vice president for production at Speed TV. The expansion of WebStream Sports, headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind., will enable the company to fully service one of its newly named partners in the region, the Big South Conference, while enabling the company to continue to grow and develop its business in the southeastern portion of the United States. The office’s first event is a Big South football production on ESPN3, Saturday, September 14. Big South member institution Gardner-Webb University hosts a non-conference game versus Richmond University at 6:00 p.m. ET. WebStream Sports, a privately owned company founded in 2006, has steadily grown since its inception. In addition to the Big South Conference, WebStream Sports provides live production services for Turner Sports, ESPN, NCAA, Horizon League, Missouri Valley Conference, Ohio Valley Conference, Indiana High School Athletic Association, IUPUI, WRTV/HTSN and more. “WebStream Sports has seen significant growth in the last 24 months with its operations based centrally in Indianapolis, Indiana,” said Greg Weitekamp, president and partner of WebStream Sports. “In order to fully service new and current partners and maintain the WebStream Sports production model; expanding our operations to other areas of the country is a necessity and a natural evolution for the company.” Cavanaugh, a 20-year television production executive, was in charge of all NASCAR programming while at Speed TV. Prior to joining Speed TV, Cavanaugh was the Vice President for Production at Wheeler Television, an independent production company that produced a number of auto racing programs including, “Totally NASCAR,” “World of Outlaws” and “Monster Trucks/Motor Madness.” “WebStream Sports’ philosophy of fully embracing partners through strong communication, cost containment, creative solutions and efficient and effective production techniques is a model that equals long-term success,” said Cavanaugh. “I’m pleased to be joining a team of individuals who believe in producing live sporting events in a simplified manner that enables tremendous stories to be told across multiple linear and digital platforms.” Joining Cavanaugh in the Charlotte office will be Senior Producer David Harris, who has been with WebStream Sports since 2007 and Producer, Adam Peterson who joined WebStream Sports in August after working on TV crews for Indiana Pacers as a camera operator and replay operator.
