Webb Pierce was born August 8, 1921 in West Monroe, Louisiana. Known for his twangy voice, lavish lifestyle and Nudie Cohen stage outfits, Pierce became one of the biggest honky-tonk stars of the 1950s behind hits like "In the Jailhouse Now", "Wondering" and "There Stands the Glass". Pierce died February 24, 1991 from cancer at age 69; he was posthumously inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.
