James 2:14-18 Elijah in 1Kings 18:41-44 brought an end to a situation of famine dat had plagued the land for 3 1/2yrs. We can learn from d process he went through in order to bring about d manifestation of change in dis situation of drought. In addition to hearing God,declaring wat He had said & intense prayer,the man of God also added some other action. He asked his servant to keep going back to check d skyline for signs of rain. James 2:14-17 says the faith dat fails to be backed up by works is a dead faith. One lesson here underscores d need to be spiritualy alert while praying. Why? If u watch & pray & yu are spiritualy sensitive,u will see signs in d spiritual skyline dat will tell u dat ur prayer has been answered. if yu sensitive enough,it will not pass you by. When u pray,do you watch out for signs of answer to your prayer? On d other hand,there is need for works to give life to ur faith. Heb 11:6 says God rewards those who diligently seek Him. Do you seek Him diligently? Yes the tide is turning for ur good but you have got to act & go beyond prayer. As a student if u want to come out in flying colours u must study. In 1964,my professor told me dat u have to go over a given text 10times if u truly want it to stick in ur memory. If yu want to reach the top,acquire a skill. Whatever yu are doing be good at it. Gid is looking for diligent hardworking & skilled people dat He will prosper. One of my friends introduced his brother to me as a tailor who just qualified & requested dat I patronise him. I gave him some material to sew a pair of trousers & he sewed something else. I told my friend dat his brother is a barber & not a tailor. Be diligent from today! ACTION POINT So signs may be a flash of less than a minute,ask God for grace not to lose divine messages.
