Wed. July 3, 2013 THE WONDERS OF CREATION (2) Psalms 104:1-12 KEY SCRIPTURE: “Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands” (Psalms 102:25). Yesterday, we started reflection on the wonders of creation looking at what God did at beginning. Furthermore today, we shall look at the foundation of the world. Before the Lord founded the world, the bible described it as without form and void and darkness was upon the earth (Gen. 1:2). In such situation, an architect or building designer in the secular world would be confused as regards to laying of the foundation of the house. Foundation is critical in building a house; if the foundation is shaky, the house would fall when there is serious rain and flood beating against the house according to Jesus (Luke 6:48-49). But the Spirit of God rescued the chaotic situation and God spoke the word to lay the foundation of the earth and establish it. “And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands” (Heb. 1:10). The amazing things about the making of the foundation were described by Job: “He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing. He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them” (Job 26:7-8). That is wonderful! The Psalmist also says, “Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever. Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains” (Psalms 104:5-6). What a mighty, awesome and wonderful God at creation? Beloved, trust God to make the foundation of your life, marriage, business, academics, ministry etc strong.
