Wed like to thank our Captain Jack Sparrow look alike Simon Newton for making the wish of a very poorly boy come true. Poorly Reece, 11, had made a wish list containing a Wikipad and a request to meet actor Johnny Depp, dressed as Captain Jack from the Pirates of the Caribbean films. The makers of Wikipad in America read about the list via a link on Twitter and contacted Alive Network to ask if we would arrange a Captain Jack look alike, as Johnny Depp was proving hard to track down. We were only to glad to help out, and Simon delivered the Wikipad on Monday morning. Reece learnt some magic tricks from his pirate visitor, who also taught him a special salute and left him with a Captain Jack tattoo. Dad Paul said: “The list was intended to give Reece something to look forward to and to give him a lift and that is exactly what this morning did. “We are so grateful from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who made this happen. “It has been so humbling since he made his list and people have been so incredibly generous and kind-hearted.” The schoolboy has also launched a second part of his bucket list, including an appeal to raise enough money to buy a beach hut that he and other ill children could use.
