Wedding Grenade Attack Claims 11th Victim A grenade attack on a wedding party in Kompong Thom province’s Prasat Sambor district on January 25 claimed an 11th life on Thursday after another victim succumbed to her injuries, according to a provincial police official. “Eleven people have died now,” said Kompong Thom provincial police chief Phan Sopheng. “The last one died on January 30 because her injuries were too serious,” he added. Mr. Sopheng said he did not know how old the female victim was or exactly what injuries she had sustained. Six victims died instantly from the grenade blast, three died in the hours following the blast and two more have died in the past week. The provincial court on Thursday charged Khoem Dara, 22, with premeditated murder for allegedly carrying out the attack. Police say they are looking for three suspected accomplices. The grenade was tossed on top of a wedding tent where about 100 revelers, mostly residents of Choam village, were dancing on the eve of a wedding between Chea Chork, 22, and Phoeun Sophal, 20. The bride and groom were also injured in the attack. © 2014, The Cambodia Daily cambodiadaily/news/wedding-grenade-attack-claims-11th-victim-51229/
