Wednesday - 9/17/14 Jimi developed a fever yesterday that broke last night, but then it came back with a vengeance. At 5:00 am, they had to surround his bed with ice packs because it reached 103 degrees. If you have ever had this high of a temperature, you know it is not. awesome. Thankfully, the fever broke and they are watching him closely. The fever is more than likely related to his numbers bottoming out and the bone marrow grafting to the bones, both of which can cause his temperature to spike. But just in case, please be praying that there is no sign of infection. The doctors are running tests to be sure. Jimi is continuing to experience pain related to GI issues and even though they have given him a morphine drip, it doesnt seem to be helping. Also, he has been having crazy bad dreams that is probably related to the medications he is on, but nonetheless, has affected his sleep. And speaking of sleep, there is one very kind nurse that seems to be rather clumsy and noisy as she checks Jimis vitals throughout the night (Jimi related her to Miley Cyrus wrecking ball :) ). So if you combine the pain he is in, the (sometimes) fever, bad dreams, and a noisy nurse, he hasnt gotten much sleep at all over the past several days. So, here are the prayer requests in random order, please and thank you: No infection Sleep!! For the pain to subside Noisy nurse to be not so noisy (bless her!) And of course, his numbers will start to rise to indicate a successful bone marrow transplant Thank you for your continued prayers. We appreciate you! Jill
